February 26th brings The Coldest Night once again
to Wilmot & Wellesley townships
WILMOT, Feb 4, 2022 – Wilmot Family Resource Centre is encouraging Wilmot & Wellesley residents to once again team up, fundraise, and walk in The Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY). This family-friendly, winterrific fundraising walk takes place on the evening of February 26, 2022 and supports people experiencing hunger, hurt, and homelessness in the townships.
Tens of thousands of Canadians will take to the streets for CNOY with events taking place in 150 cities, towns, and communities across the country. By walking together in the chill of the night, local participants will better understand the experience of being on the streets during a cold Canadian winter, while raising funds to aid the work of Wilmot Family Resource Centre in providing much-needed support.
Participants in Wilmot and Wellesley will walk a 2km or 5km route of their own choice and at any time on February 26th. They may walk on their own or in a small group. All those who raise over $150 (or $75 for youth) will also don iconic CNOY toques as they face the cold night.
This is Wilmot Family Resource Centre‘s fifth year taking part in the Coldest Night of the Year, and they’re aiming to raise $25,000 for their work with people experiencing hunger, hurt, and homelessness in Wilmot & Wellesley townships. An expected 100-150 walkers and 10-15 teams!
Wilmot Family Resource Centre has been serving the area for over 40 years, and the funds raised in the Coldest Night of the Year will help bring those in our community one step closer to safety, health and hope.
