Applying for the Canada Emergency Response Benefit or EI during the COVID-19 outbreak? Service Canada can help!

In response to the Covid-19 situation, the government has introduced the new Canada Emergency Response Benefit as part of Canada’s Economic Response Plan.

Workers who have lost their jobs or are unable to work should continue to apply for Employment Insurance benefits.

Employment Insurance and Pension applications can be made online at:

Visit the Canada Revenue Agency website for additional information on how the Canada Emergency Response Benefit will help workers.

COVID-19 Self-Screening Tool

Please note that building entry is restricted at Wilmot Family Resource Centre. COVID-19 screening protocol is to be followed by all visitors to the office.

Visitors must enter through the front door and complete the ‘self-screening tool form’ in the enclosed foyer (exception only for those with accessibility needs; knock on back door).

If answered ‘no’ to all questions on the form, visitor should use the phone provided to speak with staff for assistance. No entry into the main office past the enclosed foyer will be permitted.

Reminder: Please limit 1 person in enclosed foyer at a time for safety reasons.

Join the Summer Break for Parents and Caregivers

Take time to refresh and connect with other parents and caregivers.

Time together will include coffee, refreshments, visiting and self-care activities.

Wednesdays from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m.

PRE-REGISTRATION NOW OPEN FOR SUMMER CAMPS

Back by popular demand, Wilmot Family Resource Centre is offering full-day summer camps and free pop-up camps throughout July and August this year. Targeted towards kids in SK to Grade 6, each week will feature exciting themes. 

Summer day camp will be offered every week throughout July and August at the New Hamburg Community Centre on Jacob Street, from 8AM to 5:30PM. There is a fee for these camps. 

In addition to full-day camp, there will be FREE outdoor pop-up camps held each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 12:30PM to 3:30PM. The pop-up camps will travel to different parks throughout Wilmot township, including Mannheim, St. Agatha, New Hamburg, Baden, and New Dundee. 

Through fun, hands-on, themes, all camps will focus on building compassion, empathy, and resilience in children.  

Pre-registration is required for all summer camps.
